Welcome to the Australian Women’s Social Group Shanghai

To all newcomers to Shanghai- welcome! and please do not feel that you are alone in this at first confusing, amazing city.

The Australian Women’s Social Group was started many years ago to provide a meeting point where Aussies could come together and share experiences and support one another. Things have not changed today – you should make contact with the Newcomers contact persons. In Puxi contact Cathy Hill (Ph 1352 448 1646) and in Pudong they are Sandra Hancox (Ph 1522 140 0313) and Melanie Birkby (158 2161 4087). These ladies will be only to happy to meet you for a coffee and assist in any way they can to make your first weeks in Shanghai a little bit easier.

Coffee Mornings

A Newcomer’s coffee morning is held on the First Friday of each month and in Puxi they are held at Kakadu Restaurant, 8 Jianguo Zhong Lu by Chongqing Nan lu at 10.00am and in Pudong at Starbucks Jinqiao also at 10.00am.

You should also take the time to check out the rest of the website and find out the upcoming functions for the month. We always have our coffee morning on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and our monthly lunch on the 4th Wednesday. So there is no need for you to be lonely or feel isolated. Any committee member would be more than happy to answer any question you may have and you will find a complete list in the website of all the committee and their telephone numbers.
