PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome to the AWSG website! The Australian Women’s Social Group is one of the expat groups in town, predominately Aussies but we welcome any Foreign passport holders and have members from Belgium, France, Malaysia, New Zealand, to name but a few countries.
We have a coffee morning on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Paulaner restaurant at 150 Fen Yang Lu starting at 10.00am and we also have a monthly lunch at a different restaurant. July’s lunch is going to be held at Ciao restaurant at The Langham hotel which recently opened. It should be very special and hopefully will be a treat for all those girls who are not going home for the summer. Apart from wanting to see the family, Melbourne where I come from is freezing at the moment and does not hold much appeal!
We are always looking for new committee members and if you are new in town and want to get involved please make your self known to one of the committee ladies. We do have vacancies on the committee and are always looking for new blood and new ideas. If you like organizing social functions we have a vacancy for an Events organizer and we also have a vacancy for a Community Outreach person who deals directly with the community organizations we support. I would be remiss not to mention our Melbourne Cup Day function in November and that is another event where many hands make light work, so if you fancy being on the committee specifically for this you should talk to Colette Chester or myself.
So don’t be lonely, get involved and at the same time have some fun and make new friends for we are all at different stages of our lives, but the main thing is we care about each other and reach out in times of need, as only Aussies can!
